Commercial buildings
There are a variety of devices and design approaches that may be used to create a seismically resilient commercial structure. Some work best when combined with other systems, such as specially designed yielding elements, such as dampers, while others can provide a stand-alone resilient solution to otherwise traditional building design.
In some cases, these systems are suitable for retrofitting into an existing building to improve seismic performance.
