Electrical services
All electrical components installed within a cabinet should be positively restrained with straps, bars, bolts or similar devices. Cabinets should have hinged or sliding doors fitted with top and bottom catches. All free-standing cabinets must be sufficiently restrained to the structure.
Cabling
All cable tray systems must be seismically restrained, unless the cable tray supports only non-essential electrical services and is suspended less than 400 mm below the structural support.

All components and cabling of non-essential electrical systems should be classified category P7. All components and cabling of emergency electrical systems should be classified category P4.
Consider the classification of systems that support emergency components, such as emergency egress lighting mounted in a suspended ceiling.
Electrical reticulation (cable or busbar) and associated ducting or conduit should be designed and installed to allow relative movement of the building or electrical apparatus to which it is connected or both. The aim is to prevent damage to the electrical reticulation apparatus or building.
Where a cable enters the building through a foundation, a sleeved penetration shall be used to accommodate movement of at least 25 mm in all directions.
